As we enter phase 2 (2025-2028), SWP is seeking a dynamic and driven Programme Coordinator to join the team of one of our flagship initiatives, the Swedish Workplace Programme (SWP). SWP is growing and as part of this exciting expansion phase, we will onboard an additional key player to the team assuming the position of Programme Coordinator in our Hubs.
About the Swedish Workplace Program (SWP)
The International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR) www.nir.se/en and IF Metall, the Swedish Industrial and Metalworkers union https://www.ifmetall.se are implementing the Swedish Workplace Programme (SWP) since 2019. The programme was rolled out in Hubs in Africa, Asia and South America, with focus on promoting decent work and responsible business conduct by stimulating partnerships between management and employees.
SWP aims to enhance productivity and promote responsible business practices by strengthening dialogue frameworks and equipping labor market actors with the skills needed to establish strong partnerships between management and employees.
The program is funded by and follow the guidelines provided by the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency, Sida. As Programme Coordinator you will join a growing Hub, be responsible for a portfolio of projects, and report to the Hub Regional Coordinator/Hub Manager.
The ability to travel domestically and occasionally abroad is a must.
The Role
Your overall work is to support the Hub Regional Coordinator/Hub Manager reaching the Hub objectives and implement the related activities. You will support the Hub in conducting training/workshops, organizing events, periodic follow-up of budgets, and monitoring of activities. This will be done in close co-ordination with companies, unions, government agencies and organizations.
You are a team-oriented professional who works independently while understanding your role in the organization. You seek solutions, share new ideas, and adapt to change. Motivated to improve social dialogue in the business sector, you manage multiple tasks diligently, meeting deadlines and achieving results. In an international setting, you excel in interpersonal communication and problem-solving.
Expected date of start is 1 September.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify, develop and manage relationships with local partners, Team Sweden and other government agencies, among others.
• Design and coordinate capacity-development programs for partners.
• Deliver training and coaching to partner companies, unions and business member organizations.
• Organize events related to SWP workstreams.
• Support the Regional Coordinator in monitoring and reporting on project progress, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, budget targets and agreed outcomes.
• Identify programme opportunities and risks.
• Ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing across all program components.
Qualifications
• Academic degree in Business, Economics, Political Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience from private sector/union and or public institutions in areas of decent work and sustainability.
• Professional fluency in English, written and spoken, is required and will be tested.
• Good knowledge of the local business community, industrial relations and labour market opportunities and challenges.
• Experience in facilitation of workshops and trainings.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to support the development and monitoring of budgets, reports, and strategic plans.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders and international teams.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
• Ability to convey core values in the daily work, including respect and trust.
Experience from work with change management, workplace cooperation, conflict management, occupational health and safety, dialogue and diversity & inclusion is a strong asset.
The recruitment process will include written and verbal technical assessments, and language tests.
